Hard, fast and physical, rugby is a demanding game played by men, women and youth in almost 100 countries around the world. With fifteen players aside, the most of any team game, it requires superb player communication and coordination. Played at the highest level, it also requires outstanding fitness. Games last 80 minutes and have very few stoppages in play. Rugby combines the endurance and stamina of soccer, the physicality of hockey, the strength of football, and the speed of a track team being chased by commandos.
Excellent teams are tight-knit because they rely heavily on their fellow team members. The international rugby community is every bit as close. When you begin playing rugby, you join a world-wide fraternity and sorority. A player from a small club in Ontario can walk into any rugby club anywhere in the world and instantly feel at home. We know this to be true because some of our members have experienced just that. And when the Canada Selects and England Counties were here in Chatham-Kent, the Kent Havoc received numerous invitations for return visits. We will extend the same welcome and courtesies to Canada A and the Argentina Jaguars when they arrive in October.
